It’s that time of year when we start planning our holiday wardrobes and start looking at swimwear.  Some of us really look forward to this when others of us dread getting into swimwear.  This blog will help you decide what swimwear to go for to feel confident, stylish and comfortable on holiday.

⭐️ Definitely go for swimwear in a colour(s) from your colour palette.

⭐️ There is plenty of choice of swimwear.  Don’t worry about the size label.  Choose the costume, tankini or bikini that fits you well and you feel comfortable in.  Remember to try swimwear on and go with what feels comfortable to you.

⭐️ Consider your body shape when buying swimwear.  Tankinis and bikinis are a good option if you are a different size top to the lower half of your body as you can buy the top and bottom to fit your size comfortably.  A tankini is a good option if you want tummy coverage.

⭐️Swimwear these days is designed to flatter women and disguise those areas we may feel more self conscious about such as tummy’s, hips and thighs.  Go for a swimsuit with a control front panel to disguise a fuller and curvy tummy.

⭐️ Patterns can be good for disguising curves and areas you feel more self-conscious about as the eye is drawn to the pattern rather than certain areas of our bodies.  Choose the type of pattern that suits your body shape.  For example, floral, paisley, circles and spotty patterns will suit those with curvy body shapes such as the hourglass and full hourglass.  Vertical stripes, checks and geometrics will suit those with straighter lines in their body shapes such as the rectangle and inverted triangle.

⭐️ Consider the size of the pattern in proportion to your scale.  So a petite will need a smaller scale pattern whereas a fuller frame will need a larger and bolder pattern to compliment her scale.

⭐️ If you are opting for a striped swimming costume consider the direction of the stripe.  Horizontal stripes will widen curves and body shape.  Vertical stripes will create an illusion of length in the body shape and create the illusion of a narrower body shape.  Also consider the scale of the stripes.  A petite woman will need narrower and smaller scale stripes.

⭐️ Ensure that your bikini bottom or swimming costume ends on the narrowest part of your hips and thighs for the most flattering finish.  A high leg bikini bottom or swimming costume will create length in the leg.

⭐️ To elongate the life of your swimwear, wash in travel wash after wearing it each day to wash out any suncream, saltwater or chlorine and leave to dry naturally.
